Frank Kronmüller, Managing Director R+W Antriebselemente GmbH

MM Machine Market:
What does it mean to you personally to be a medium-sized company?

Frank Kronmüller: For me, a medium-sized company combines the best of both worlds: Our coupling know-how is recognized worldwide and from our headquarters in Wörth am Main we operate as a global solution provider. Nevertheless, our original craft DNA remains a valuable ingredient that enables us to tackle projects together and implement them consistently.

MM Maschinenmarkt:
Where do you see the strengths of medium-sized companies?

Frank Kronmüller: In addition to the well-known qualities that are undoubtedly attributed to German SMEs, I see regional cooperation as an outstanding strength. Medium-sized companies are often organized in regional clusters, where they cooperate to pool their resources and work together on research and development. This collaboration is a driver of innovation and competitiveness.

MM Maschinenmarkt:
In your eyes, what will be the biggest challenges as a medium-sized company in 2023?

Frank Kronmüller: The strength of SMEs to operate in regional innovation clusters also means that we produce in Germany as a location. To be internationally competitive and offset higher costs, it is crucial to increase our productivity. A key challenge is to use our own resources more effectively with the help of integrated processes. Ultimately, it means that as a medium-sized company, you always have to be adaptable.
